Blaring Out Michael Bublé
Sunday, August 24, 2008

Blaring out Michael Bublé's rendition of 'For Once in my Life' is not my partner's idea of a relaxing Sunday morning but apparently it's good music to wash your car to. At least that's what our neighbours across the street were doing.

I'm not a particular fan of big band music or Michael Bublé but being able to hear this style of song, perfectly clearly in my lounge room, when it's blaring from a car stereo system across the street makes for a refreshing change. I mean it could be worse and at least it's not doof, doof, doof.

Maybe there is hope that one day they'll be washing their car to Björk's rendition of 'It's Oh so quiet'. That would be Sunday morning comedy gold!

Comments:

Bring it on!! I like Michael Buble, though I only own a CD/DVD set. That was because I thought it was time I had something by him, as I thought I must be missing out on this young man's smooth 'Frank Sinatra' style of singing.

I'm not sure I would like to hear it being blared out whilst someone was washing their car though, either! I don't like any music blaring! It's music to relax by - either listening on CD(I'm usually on my comp or washing up when I listen to my CDs!) or at a 'live' concert or on DVD.

Just when I have heard Bjorke sing - I take it that 'It's Oh So Quiet' isn't anything like quiet?!! I think I've heard it, but if it's not quiet, she shouldn't be singing it!

Didn't like the way she attacked a fan at the airport once when she was obviously annoyed by them maybe wanting an autograph, or was it a reporter? A bit extreme!

Bjork's song is a 'big band' style number along the lines of what Michael would sing. I think it would be funny because of the line 'it's oh so quiet' in the quiet sections of the song then breaks out really loud in the chorus. If you like Michael's songs then you'll like that particular song of Bjorks.

The fan Bjork attacked at the airport was a reporter who asked her a question. The attack was unwarranted though, as from memory the question was nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe she got upset at hearing the same boring question for the umpteenth time?

Comes with the job though, doesn't it?!!

I don't mind Bjorke's singing (Carl likes her) but I haven't heard her in ages. Michael Buble has a much pleasanter, soothing voice. She's much louder!
