|The Martin Jetpack by New Zealand|
Company Martin Aircraft. May double
as a case for your iphone 5 - NOT!
Sure the specs were bumped up but it still was just an iphone. It's most memorable feature was the whole signal interference fiasco that followed. Beyond that it was nothing more than an evolution of an existing product. The original iphone was the game changer not the iphone 4.
Now the technology blogs are once again getting clogged with rumors of what features the new iphone 5 will have. Really? Do we really need to be giving Apple all this free buzz for what will probably be more of the same with a bit higher specs.
Do you really care that the iphone 5 may have a curved glass screen? Other comparable phones already have curved glass screens so it's not like Apple thought of that first?
What about the rumor that iphone 5 will have a separate rear flash and camera lens? Revolutionary. Not at all.
Sure it's fun to speculate given that Apple never confirms or denies rumors but writing endless posts about speculation in the lead up to the launch date? It's an iphone 5 not a first generation ipad.
Now if there was any hint of truth to the rumor that the iphone 5 would include a personal jet pack for increased portability, that would be something to write about.
Otherwise, the iphone 5 is no more interesting than the ipad 2. They're not game changer products. They are just evolutions of products that deserved the attention when their first generations were released.
All this speculation just gives the impression that people who use Apple products are never happy with what they have. They're always looking to the next version of their products with the expectation that a new version will be released soon that is sure to be better.
