Creating a Blog Business: Digital Art and Animation / Part 4: You're Not Going to Like This and Further Resources

If you're a regular reader of this blog, or at least trying to be if I'd just stick to posting at least one article per week, you may have noticed it's been a few weeks since my last entry.

You may also be wondering, where is the real part 4 in my Creating a Blog Business: Digital Art and Animation series? The truth is, I hit a wall with this series in that, writing about the steps to starting a blog business, whilst trying to actually start a blog business, is more of a commitment than I'm able to make just at the moment.

I've tried to push through and keep the series going but my heart just isn't in it right now. As a result instead of moving forward, the blog business isn't going anywhere at the moment. Resulting in no posts to this blog because I've been trying to keep the series alive instead of writing posts about other things that interest me too... like movie reviews and not even a single post commenting about the US election (for example).

I have every intention of starting a blog business around the domain name, digitalartandanimation.com but I need to be able to work at my own pace, in my own time, without being pressured with keeping up my progress for the sake of writing a public diary of the process.

I realize blogging the process was my own choice, so, if you were looking forward to seeing the whole process unfold, I'm sorry to disappoint you with the news that I've decided to discontinue this series indefinitely. It may come up in a future post or it may not. I don't want to promise anything in the way of possible updates at a future time.

That said, I'm not going to leave all you wanna-be blog business hopefuls high and dry. For even better information on starting your own blog business than I would probably have given visit the ProBlogger web site, started by Darren Rowse. There you'll find not just the information you'll need to create a blog based business but also an entire community of bloggers to swap notes with.

Note that I'm not in any kind of partnership or affiliate with ProBlogger. It's a site I happened across in the course of writing the Creating a Blog Business series. At the time I found it, I thought, why am I even bothering writing a series when there's a whole site and community dedicated to this stuff? It really has some of the best information and you can bet I'll be referring to it with my endeavors on developing digitalartandanimation.com.

Another useful site you may want to frequent is Side Hustle School by Chris Guillebeau. Again, I have no connection to the site and am not getting any benefit from the link other than you're going to be happy I brought the site to your attention.

The key content you're going to want to listen to from Side Hustle School is the daily, ten minute podcasts that each tell a story about someone who successfully started and continue to grow a side business without quitting their day job. I've found it very inspirational for showing how it is possible to fit a side business into an already busy schedule.

---o ---o--- o---

So that's it. If you've been a fan of my more entrepreneurial posts of the last few months, thanks for following along. I hope you'll stick around for whatever I post next, which could be anything from my own personal interests to whatever has captured my attention this week.

China may be only burning rubbish from power lines
with these drones but you know some A.I. somewhere
is stroking a cat and grinning an evil grin.
As well I'll probably need to resume my updates on the status of the inevitable machine uprising now that China is attaching flame throwers to drones... yes, flame throwers! Like that's going to end well.

If you think robots aren't out to get us then you probably should read my post from January 2010 titled, Feral Juicer Plots World Domination. It'll open your eyes as to just how serious this issue is for me... (hint: not very).
