Latest artwork now on Ebay.
Three Cats Fishing Acrylic on Three Canvas Frame Panels Each Panel: 30 x 40cm, June 2008
Three Cats Fishing has been a long time coming. The original sketch idea was first drawn some time in January of this year. I then started the artwork during a burst of enthusiasm some time in early April. I got to the point of laying down all my base painting and then promptly ran out of steam.
Almost two months and four artworks later I finally revisited the three panels - which were painted concurrently - and managed to complete the series with a some what better end result than expected.
If you’re new to this site and haven’t seen part one of the two part video which follows the creation of Three Cats Fishing then head on over to my Cats page to view the first video.
If you would like to own the entire set of three original artworks they are currently listed on ebay as a set.
Important note: These artworks will only be offered as a set once. Should they fail to find a buyer I will split them and list each on ebay separately. Bid Now if you would like to own the set - it will be harder and more expensive to win all three if they are listed separately.
Tangled Toys Still Available
Speaking of auctions, last month’s artwork, Tangled Toys is still looking for the right buyer to give it a home.
Constant relisting on ebay is expensive so I’ve listed it for auction on Aussie auction site Oztion, which doesn’t eat into my profit with listing fees.
If you’re not familiar with Oztion just think of it as an Australian version of ebay. It’s all pretty much the same only with a different fee structure and Oztion isn’t trying to restrict their payment options to just PayPal (so if that put you off bidding on this artwork when it was on ebay then at Oztion you’ve got more payment choices).
Bid on the Tangled Toys auction now.
Guitars, Adwords and Elephants in my Blog.
My artwork, the Artist Palette, Acoustic Rock Guitar was used to promote an art event in Los Angeles, California. Well at least a photo of it was. The photo of the guitar underwent a photo shop make over which made it look even cooler. Read about it and see the finished promotional poster in my blog post, The Artist Palette, Acoustic Rock Guitar.
Someone made a comment about my signature ‘TET’ suggesting I should perhaps change it to ‘tET’. This inspired the post, Why I’m THE Extraordinary Tourist.
This month I started experimenting with advertising this web site using Google’s Adwords program. If you own a web site and have wondered if Adwords is affordable and/or worthwhile then you may like to read my series of three articles starting with Adwords for Artists - My Journey. Part 1.
To finish up I wrote a couple of lighter articles based on some recent experiences. Can you see the Elephant? recounts a some what unusual way I was screened out of taking an online survey whilst Screaming from Car Windows talks about one of my pet hates from a pedestrians point of view.
A final word from TET...
Although I thought I was back I find I’m still struggling to keep myself motivated. Despite two very good (if I do say so myself), recent cat artworks (Table Mouse and Tangled Toys) I feel I’ve gone just about as far as I can go with my present course.
It’s not that I’ve run out of ideas for cat paintings it’s just that I think I’ve done ‘whimsical’ and ‘charming’ for long enough. Perhaps it’s time to take my cat paintings somewhere new? Something to ponder I think.
Until next time. Thank you for supporting Independent Art.
